Our partner for charcoal fiber - Uchino

Renowned for its luxurious textiles and commitment to environmental protection, senscommon partner has been utilizing innovative textiles since its initial launch of bath and body products back in 1947.

Located in Tokyo, Japan, Uchino has mastered weaving organic cotton, always herb or mineral dyed, in the most unique structures possible. Our shared vision concerning material properties such as performance and tactility being the starting point of designs led to an exclusive collaboration for our on-journey wear.

The clothing line uses Uchino Japan’s revolutionary textile blend: Charcoal Fiber with Ubame oak activated powder kneaded into cotton/rayon fibers before spinning. This gives the garments a self-purifying quality, as the fabric itself actively repels moisture, prevents odours from developing, and protects against environmental chemicals.

While we understand that carefully picking and choosing our partners is a luxury, we consider this process and these relationships the most rewarding part of our work, and the driving force behind everything we do.
