Invisible performance
At senscommon, utility runs fiber-deep.
One of the cleanest-to-produce fibers, Tencel™ lyocell is made from eucalyptus wood pulp - a smart, natural fiber that should substitute the extractive and polluting cotton in your wardrobe. The senscommon per-piece dye range celebrates the silk-like properties of this fiber and combines it with a production process mandatory for garments made of lyocell — pre-shrinking. Designed with this inevitable laundry process in mind, the garments were first manufactured from white fabric and then manually dyed in a unique pattern — drastically minimizing the use of water and chemicals all while pre-shrinking your shirt to its final fit.
DESIGN FOR WELLBEING
At senscommon, wellbeing is woven into the product.
The senscommon per-piece dye garments feel smooth like silk — a natural aspect of the eucalyptus lyocell fiber. No picture can describe this feeling and we mean it when we say it is a must-touch experience on its own. Combined with the psychological relief of consuming more responsibly, the senscommon per-piece dye garments intend to relax you.
DESIGN WITH PURPOSE
At senscommon, purpose and design are intertwined.
The senscommon per-piece dye garments elevate a comfortable experience all while enabling an elegant look. We use production restraints of working with lyocell and turn it into an opportunity to garment-dye each piece after it has been made in white. With this range, we celebrate the manual techniques no machine can make - by letting the specialists paint a unique pattern on each garment. This project is done in close collaboration with our partner dyeing house located 30 min away from the senscommon studio. Read more about it in INSIGHTS.
RESPONSIBLE DESIGN
At senscommon, loose ends in responsible design are tied down.
The senscommon Tencel™ per-piece dye range goes beyond the wearer. Crafted from eucalyptus, Tencel™ lyocell uses 20 times less water than cotton in its eco-friendly production. Our corozo nut buttons, known as vegetable ivory, are durable and planet-friendly. Harvested naturally, tagua palm tree nuts ensure no deforestation or unethical practices, bringing you an ethically made shirt.
